We really enjoyed the area the Cottage was placed, It was great looking out to the mountains and having the horses in the paddock infront of us, Nice and clean. The dvd selection was also cool
I didnt like the beds - only foam mattress not too comfortable, Also i didnnt like the fact the bathroom was more like a hospital bathroom than a motel bathroom - the pump soap and the toilet roll was a big turn off for me. Apart from that was great!!!
very comfortable / frindly staff / kid friendly
a bit far out of town
very friendly, helpful staff Had lovely playground and tramp for the kids and our kids loved having the choice of a DVD that the owners give out.
design of the units & the ability to cook
The staff were very helpful and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us, the cottage was well presented and a good design , I would recomend them as good value.
The Cottages were lovely and great surroundings, Staff were really friendly and helpfull, telling us a few things to do in the area that we would otherwise not of known to do. Great for the children as well with lots of space to run around and play.
Comfortable and clean motel with very friendly proprietor who went out of her way to accommodate our needs without being asked. The large selection of DVDs to borrow was a bonus for night time relaxation.
Not a complaint as it did not affect us but the distance to town might not suit people without their own transport. A restaurant/bar, shops and a decent supermarket are only 1km away, however, and there is a small food shop just a minute's walk away. Also, do bring your own shampoo as although the motel supplies hand and body wash I wouldn't want to use it on my hair.
Staying in one of the cottages looking out onto the snow capped mountains was the highlight of my drive from Hamilton to Dunedin. The cottage was so well appointed and extremely clean. I was met by a really warm, friendly woman who was so kind, helpful and gracious. She made my stay so memorable.
We needed a lift up the road and the owner kindly took us there without question. We were also going to be home late so she arranged for our stuff and key to be in a certain location for us. Very accommodating.
quiet and clean--within driving distance to things -not walking.
bed too hard---only one pillow on beds
Really nice people, great little cottage in a lovely place
Just a nice place and the staff were great - very accommodating
Not close to town - but for our stay that was not a problem
Beautifully designed cottages, each one located so as to maximise spectacular nountain views. I could happily live in one of them permanently. Friendly owners.
Toilet paper dispenser irritating to use. Separate rolls would be preferable. Located a little out of town so own transport necessary. Some noise from nearby State Highway 1, although all cottages have double-glazed windows to lessen outdoor noise and retain heat.
Warm and comfortable....we liked the design, location and welcome. Friendly clean and convenient and we would certainly book again if in the area.
Small family-run business with friendly and helpful owners. Raewyn provided us with tips on things to do and places to eat. The view of the mountains is fantastic on a clear day, and you can see them from your bedroom window. Located just on the outskirts of town, quite convenient to access anywhere in and around Kaikoura as long as you have a car. The cottages are simple but spacious and could easily accommodate a family.
Pillows were lumpy.
